Sea Glass

This is one of my favorite quilts that I finished this year.  The color in the picture really isn't good.  It  isn't as pink as it looks in the picture.

I made it for my sister and brother in law who live on the gulf coast of Florida.  They wanted a simple quilt in ocean colors to hang on the wall in their guest room.  When they saw it, they immediately decided it was too beautiful to go into the guest room and should go in a more conspicuous spot.  I used a pattern from an old Sewing Savy magazine and collected fabrics for several years before finally putting it all together.  A professional quilter did an awesome job of quilting it in a pattern that looks like water.  Click the picture to see a close up and you can see the totally appropriate quilting.

  15. That must have been fun, living on the desert and making an ocean quilt. I love it. The colors remind me of the ocean in Cancun and the quilting is just perfect for it.
